Life Spring Church

Life Spring Church began in the home of Alban and Albina Nedelko in the early part of 2019. Having a heart for church planting within their community, they began to invite neighbors and co-workers to hear the gospel of Jesus and to have fellowship together. Sean and Laura Carney joined up with them that spring, and on Easter Sunday, 2019, the church had their first large meeting...in a nightclub. This is very unusual in a conservative Albanian culture, but God was leading a local businessman, a "man of peace", to offer his space for free each Sunday morning. 

In the summer of 2019, Sean and Alban began to look for a space to house English courses, wanting to offer a legitimate service to the community that would both provide for the church and build relationships locally. God again provided a space, not only for the courses, but also for the church to meet on Sundays. That summer, we had our first baptisms in the courtyard of our new building. Ferit, a 70 year old former Muslim, sprang out of the water with joy dripping from his face. 

Since that summer, God has extended His reach deeper and deeper into our community. Through relationships built in English courses, families have come to hear of how God wants a relationship with them. Through food distribution, struggling families have come to trust the Bread of Life. Through coffee bar evangelism, people have heard about how God is King in our daily lives. 

We are now praising God as each week we look out on 40-60 people worshiping God, people who have never had a church in their neighborhood. We are excited to see them grow in prayer, in hunger for the word of God, in inviting and serving their friends and neighbors. We look forward to the next chapter as we faithfully share the gospel, teaching the word of God while consistently living it out in the context of everyday life.
